Abstract
Yarn treatment process. . GG-. Involves leaving the yarn in the form of a plug while the yarn is brought into contact with a treatment medium. Although the intention is to cool the plug of crimped yarn, the yarn in the form of a plug can be subjected to other treatments, including dyeing and lubricating. Another treatment is cooling before tensioning, for example by unwinding the yarn from the plug to form a package. The yarn can remain in plug form while it is brought into contact with cooling gas which can be the ambient atmosphere. One method consists of elements forming an elongated guide through which the yarn can pass, the guide having a large number of surfaces for subjecting the yarn to a treatment medium.
