Abstract

Refers particularly to the cooling of thin-walled tins containing hot materials such as fruit juices. The equipment consists of an endless transporter system operating in a vertical plane, the containers being loaded on at the bottom and removed at the top. In transit the containers are sprayed by a number of jets of cooling liquid, the liquid being collected for recovery in a tank below the transporter. The process is more rapid and convenient than transit through a water bath.
