Abstract
Amine (I) is reacted with formaldehyde and olefin (II) in presence of a strong acid at 0-70 degrees C, opt. in presence of a solvent, and the salt obtained is converted to the free base (III) in known way. R1,R2,R3,R4 = H, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, halogen (R1 pref. H), R9 = H or 1-4C alkyl (pref. H). Any of the pairs R1 & R2, R2 & R3, R3 & R4, R1 & R9 may together form part of a 6 membered ring. R6,R8 = H or 1-10C alkyl, R7 = Ph, CH2=CH or Me, Et provided R6 = H.
