Abstract
Display system comprising a solid state doped TiO2 layer, which locally modifies its structure when optically excited e.g. by a flying spot. modulated laser beam or electroluminescent screen and associated luminence, amplifier, at a wave length lambda 1, adjacent a photo desorber oxide support e.g. ZnO liberating O2 by exposure to light of wave length lambda 2 (lambda 1 is not = lambda 2). The reaction TiO2 right arrow TiO + 1/2O2 causes rapid blackening and is reversible by heating.
