Description
Constant level device allowing the evaporation of a volatile liquid intended to deodorize, disinfect or sanitize ambient air.
The apparatus forming the subject of the present invention is intended to deodorize, disinfect or sanitize the ambient air by allowing the regular evaporation of a volatile liquid at ordinary temperature.
It consists :
at. A reservoir R intended to contain the volatile liquid. A rubber stopper B closes this reservoir; b. An evaporation pan C, intended to bring the volatile liquid into contact with air; vs. A supply tube T putting the reservoir in communication with the bowl. The lower part of this tube can slide inside a ring integral with the bowl. The ring itself is provided with a fixing screw V, which makes it possible to adjust the distance between the lower end of the tube and the bottom of the bowl and thus to adjust the height of the liquid in the bowl.
The upper end of the feed tube, cut into a bevel, is flush with the face of the stopper located inside the container so that the liquid contained in the container can flow to the last drop.
To put the apparatus into service, the tube is introduced through the plug until the washer welded to the tube abuts against the outer face of the plug. The diameter of the passage of the tube through the cap must be calculated so that the tightness of the tank is ensured.
The different parts of the device are made of metal, glass or plastic. It is understood that, in the case where a plastic material is used, the latter must be compatible with the liquid to be volatilized.
The operating principle of the device is as follows:
The liquid contained in the tank R flows by gravity inside the tube T in the bowl C.
By evaporation, the level of the liquid contained in the cuvette drops and uncovers the lower opening of the tube. Air can then enter the tank.
The liquid flows into the bowl. Its level rises to the fixed level where it stabilizes, the lower end of the tube then being submerged in the liquid.
Thus, the level of volatile liquid is kept constant in the bowl at the desired height.
This level of the liquid in the bowl is in fact adjustable, since the further the lower end of the tube is from the bottom of the bowl, the greater the quantity contained in the bowl and subjected to evaporation.
Without departing from the scope of the invention, it is possible to produce a more economical device model in which the reservoir, the bowl and the supply tube are integral. The device can then only be used once.
