Abstract
In a method of threading, a tail end T separated from a full-width web W is fed to the calender section C of a paper or cardboard machine from the preceding processing section, the said tail end being introduced into the calender section C along a path corresponding to the calender web geometry defined by calender rolls 1. The tail end T is sucked into a suction tube 4, which follows the web geometry and has been inserted between the roll gap of the calender rolls 1, and at the same time the inlet opening 4a of the tube is moved in the running direction of the tail end T, in order to free the tail end T and guide the tail end in the roll gap of the calender rolls 1. <IMAGE>
