Abstract

The invention concerns a process for purifying waste furnace gases and for using the resultant filter residue. Alkaline aggregates, containing sodium or potassium as the cation, are added to the waste furnace gas. In a subsequent stage, dusts and droplets are filtered out of the waste furnace gas. The resultant filter residue is added to the cover salt (7) necessary when melting secondary aluminium.
