Abstract

Aggressive and/or solid or fibre-contg. liquids are stirred by an arrangement of a circular housing (1) with a head flange (20) through which a drive shaft (3) passes, driven by an enclosed electric motor. A propeller hub (5) is mounted on the drive shaft, carrying a number of propeller blades (6) which cause liquid flow (7). A gap (8) is provided between the head flange and the propeller hub and is covered by a guard ring (9), inserted in one or several grooves (10). The ring consists of an acid and/or alkali-resistant elastomeric material, pref. acrylonitrile-butadiene or fluoro-rubber.
