Abstract
A synchronizer for connecting in parallel a synchronous generator (5) and an alternating current network (7) consists of measurement circuits for the voltages (U), the frequencies (f) and the phase angle ((phi)) between the network and the generator voltages, as well as outputs for regulating the speed of rotation of the generator drive (3) and the voltage of the generator (5). A switching instruction is given to the main generator switch (2) depending on the phase angle ((phi)), when voltages and frequencies are equal, with a value determined by a computer. While the generator (5) is brought into operation, the optimum regulating instructions for the regulator (4) of the speed of rotation are determined by trials. The regulating response to regulating instructions for the regulator (4) of the speed of rotation of the generator drive (3) are detected and stored by the computer (1) which determines from all regulating responses the optimum regulating instruction for the regulator (5) of the speed of rotation for each difference between the set and real values of the voltage (U) and frequency (f). By integrating this regulating characteristic into the generator (5) and generator drive (3), synchronization becomes faster and is carried out with as little load shocks as possible. Once the frequency difference is compensated, a superposed frequency adjustment is carried out and controlled by the computer (1) depending on the phase angle.
