Abstract

The present invention deals with a method for bleaching of pulp. In particular, the invention calls for bleaching of TCF pulp at medium consistency, 5-25 percent, and a conventional bleaching temperature, 80-120 degrees Celsius, by using ozone as one of the bleaching chemicals. A characteristic feature of the method according to the present invention is that the medium- consistency pulp can be bleached with ozone directly at a temperature at which the pulp arrives from the preceding bleaching stage, without needing to be cooled down, and the pulp can be fed to the following bleaching stage without needing to be specially heated.
