Abstract

The invention relates to a system of drainage chambers in a double-wire former. The double-wire former comprises a double-wire zone, in which a wire loading unit 23 is arranged inside one wire loop 20. In this latter unit there is a system of loading strips 26a, 26, 26b, which can very suitably be loaded with pressure Pk by a pressure medium, and opposite this a system of drainage and guide strips 36a, 36b, 36c inside the second wire loop 10. In the former, drainage chambers 15A; 15B; 15C; 15D have been arranged inside the upper wire loop 10, which chambers are connected to a drainage channel 14B; 14D or channels 14a, 14b, 14c, via which water is removed that emanates from the web W through the upper wire 10 via the hollow spaces 36R in the strips that function against the inner surface of the upper wire loop 10. At least the upper part of the system of drainage chambers 15A; 15B; 15C; 15D is arranged in the form of an integrated suction chamber space with which a negative pressure P1 from a negative pressure source 40 can be combined. Below the said drainage chambers 15A; 15B; 15C; 15D there are strip sections 37a, 37b, 37c, 37a1, 37a2, the negative pressure that prevails in the various sections and/or the quantities of water that are removed from the web W through the wire 10 by way of the various sections being controllable or adjustable. <IMAGE>
