Abstract

In a process for analysing a substance photometrically, luminous energy is conducted to a test chamber 3 and the luminous energy subsequently emanating from the test chamber is measured. Of the substance to be analysed, or of the product of a reaction dependent thereon, a precipitate is formed in the test chamber 3 by means of a suitable reagent and the intensity of the light diffused back from the precipitate is measured. In the process, the precipitate is formed in a reaction between ammonia and a precipitant to allow the analysis of ammonia or of substances which release it. <IMAGE>
