Abstract

The invention relates to web-shaped foam plastic boards from polyolefins, the boards being manufactured from polyolefin form mass containing cell-forming agent, by extrusion, flotation and expansion of said mass, halogen- free hydrocarbons and/or CO2 being utilised as cell- forming agent by their manufacture. Without supplemental maturing, the foam plastic boards according to the invention have a cell-forming agent content immediately after their manufacture, more than 30 per cent below that of the hitherto known products manufactured in the same way. The new foam plastic boards according to the invention are characterised in that the surface of the board has been needle-perforated within three a maximum of hours after the extrusion. They have an outstanding heat stability. The manufacture of the foam plastic boards according to the invention is performed according to hitherto known methods and utilising hitherto known devices, whereby the products are additionally needle- perforated immediately after having attained their specific solidity following the extrusion.
