Abstract

Date Mar. 31, 1994A method and an apparatus for measuring quantities relating to a person's cardiac activity, such as for example quantities proportional to heart rate, cardiac stroke volume and cardiac output. A person is positioned on a measuring support (S), so that a blood flow pulse caused by a stroke of heart is matched by a change in a person's weight (G). Said change of weight is recorded and the recorded changes of weight are used for deriving information about a person's cardiac activity, such as for example about stroke volume and cardiac output as well as heart rate.
