Abstract

The object of the invention is a method for removing and cleaning gases which are formed during the torch- cutting process, in which method the metal plate 1 to be cut is placed on a liquid table 2 where the metal plate lies above the liquid. The cutting head 4, which is part of the cutting apparatus 3, is carried over the metal plate 1, and the metal plate is cut by the said cutting head. In this connection, the object of the invention is an apparatus system for implementing the method. Removal of the gases arising from the torch- cutting process from the working areas is a problem at present. In a method proposed in the invention, the gases formed during cutting are drawn off from a collection hood 5 placed around the cutting head, and then carried to cleaning equipment 6 where the gases are purified. An apparatus system according to the invention comprises a collection hood 5 placed around the cutting head 4, cleaning equipment 6 located near the cutting apparatus and flexible hose 7 for guiding the gases from the collection hood to the cleaning equipment. <IMAGE>
