Abstract

A cast metal transmission housing (10), in particular such a housing for a differential of a vehicle, the base region of which is designed at least in part as an oil sump (30) and is connected via at least one oil suction conduit to at least one oil pump (28), is designed in such a way that it is easy to fit, takes up little or no additional space for piping and permits the construction of a favourably priced oil circuit. This is achieved by an oil passage (14) which is formed within the housing wall (12), is connected at least to a suction point (18) opening in the region of the oil sump (30) and extends as far as at least one external outlet opening (24) in the transmission housing (10). A suction port (26) of the oil pump (28) is connected directly to the outlet opening (24), of which there is at least one, of the oil passage (14). <IMAGE>
