Abstract

The invention relates to a method and device for carrying out continuous electrochemical surface coating. An object E which is to be coated is passed through a treatment part 1 containing treatment solution KL, in which the treatment solution is arranged so as to flow essentially in a direction which is opposite to the direction of movement of the object E which is to be coated. In the treatment part 1 there is an electrode device connected to a source of power, with the electric current passing between the electrodes of the electrode device. The treatment solution KL is additionally exposed to vibrations from an ultrasonic transmitter 13. During the treatment the treatment solution is cleaned by internal circulation of the treatment solution to a separate cleaning tank 2 which contains a considerably greater volume of treatment solution than the volume of treatment solution in the treatment part 1. The treatment solution KL is made up of at least two component groups, so that the treatment solution contains both a chemical component group which cleans the object to be coated and a coating chemical component group. <IMAGE>
