Abstract

In this publication a new method is described that makes it possible to effectively purify gases flowing under low pressure relative to different substances, and an arrangement for application of the method. The invention is based on the fact that the particle size in the substance being filtered is allowed to increase by means of a final reaction chamber 2, whereupon the stream is guided through a mechanical filter 3. The particle size grows further on the surface of the mechanical filter 3 and the particles are thus attached easily on the surface of the thin filter 3. To prevent the filter 3 from being clogged again the filter is cleaned mechanically by rotating it by means of an electric motor 18 against a scraper. Cooperation of mechanical cleaning and increase in particle size makes it possible to use a mechanical filter 3 with good permeability in which the pressure loss over the filter remains small. <IMAGE>
