Abstract

The invention relates to an electric sauna stove, which comprises an outer mantle 1, which surrounds a stone compartment 3 containing a heat-storing mass 8, and one or more electrical resistors 4 arranged in the stone compartment 3 for heating of the heat-storing mass 8. In order to design a sauna stove which is favourable with regard to preheating time, energy consumption and pleasantness of the sauna, the aim of the invention has been to ensure that: the outer mantle 1 is thermally insulated and provides an essentially tight enclosure around the stone compartment 3 at least at the sides and at the top, that means 11 have been fitted in the stone compartment 3 for the purpose of ensuring that the electricity supply to the electrical resistor or resistors is dependent upon the temperature within the stone compartment 3, that the stove possesses means 2,6,9 for achieving airflow communication between the stone compartment 3 and the area in which the sauna stove is located in order to ensure heat transfer from the stone compartment 3 to the stove location area and that the means 2,6,9 for achieving airflow communication are connected to a device 12 which, when airflow communication is achieved, switches on, by automatic control, protection devices which are necessary for preventing overheating of the sauna room or other dangerous situations. <IMAGE>
