Abstract

A drum-shaped wind wheel is described, which is provided with a cylindrical tube 1, arranged coaxially with the axis of rotation of the wind wheel, both ends of which tube have circular end plates 2 and 3, vanes 6, 7, 8 and 9 having an obliquely streamlined profile and being supported with limited capacity for inclination in proximity to the edge of the two end plates 2 and 3 on moveable shafts 10, 11, 12 and 13 arranged parallel with the axis of rotation of the wind wheel. The arrangement has in this connection been designed in such a way that at least four aerofoils 6, 7, 8 and 9 are equally spaced around the circumference of the wind wheel and are provided with an obliquely streamlined profile, and that the aerofoils 6, 7, 8 and 9 with nose 18 and 21 are inclinably supported in front of the moveable shafts 10, 11, 12, and 13 in the area between the edges 4 and 5 of the end plates 2 and 3 and the cylindrical tube 1. <IMAGE>
