The invention relates to a cheese planer comprising an arm and a plate-like blade part attached to the end of the arm.

The blade part of the cheese planer has one cutting blade placed in the lower part of the elongate opening made in the blade part. A cheese planer is used to cut cheese or other similar food by pulling the cheese planer along the surface of the cheese so that the cutting blade cuts a thin slice of the cheese. Cutting cheese is a slow 10 job and if you have to cut a lot of cheese it takes a relatively long time.

The object of the invention is to provide a cheese planer which eliminates the drawbacks associated with current cheese planers. In particular, it is an object of the invention to provide a cheese planer by means of which cheese or a similar foodstuff can be cut more quickly than before. It is a further object of the invention to provide a cheese planer which is simple and functional in structure.

The object of the invention is achieved by a cheese planer, which is characterized by what is stated in the claims.

In the cheese planer according to the invention, two or more cutting blades are formed in its blade part. In this case, more than one slice of cheese or the like can be cut at a time, which speeds up the cutting. The number of cutting blades can vary in different applications and e.g. depending on the application and the user.

The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, which shows an application of a cheese planer according to the invention seen obliquely from above.

In the embodiment shown in the figure, the cheese planer comprises an arm 1 and a substantially plate-like blade part 2 attached to the end of the arm. Four cutting blades 3 are formed in the blade part by making four elongate cutting openings and forming the lower edges of the openings into blades. The cutting blades are parallel to each other and are arranged at equal distances from each other.

The blade openings of the cheese planer are reinforced with edges 4, 10 which support the structure. The edges are formed in connection with the formation of the cutting openings. The cutting blades are placed in the blade section in an area that is flat and the cutting holes are essentially the same size.

15 When using the cheese planer shown in the figure, four slices of cheese or similar food to be cut are obtained at the same time by placing the cheese planer so that the top cutting opening is at the edge of the food and pulling the cheese planer as usual.

20 Due to the inclination of the blade section, the food is first cut by one blade and then the other blades begin to cut in succession. In this case, the cutting operation of the previous blade does not disturb the next blade, but a good cutting result is obtained.
