This invention relates to a picking machine for an automatic potato sewing machine in which machine potatoes are measured by means of ribbons or chains in a transmitter from a potato container into the machine's siphon, the pickling unit comprising a container for a powdered pickling agent, one communicating with the container via a dosing device, a fan connected to the mixing chamber and connection tubes brought from the mixing chamber.

Previously, potato pickling was carried out, so that powdered pickling was sprayed by hand over the potatoes as long as they were still in the potato container. This resulted in a very uneven treatment of the potatoes saying that some of the potatoes were completely untreated and others received a large overdose of the pickling agent. In addition, the said procedure posed a great health risk, since all herbicides as known are classified as poisons.

From German application document DOS 2 647 153 is a device for pickling and / or chemical treatment of e.g. sweet potato previously known. This known solution implies that at least one potato is pressed into foam or foam plastic layers which are soaked with e.g. liquid pickling agents. There is no indication that this device would be mounted on a potato sewing machine.

German application specification DOS 2 835 050 describes a sowing machine with a pickling unit according to the preamble whose connecting pipe opens in the lower part of the sowing machine's seed container, so that individual and even treatment of each seed or grain is not possible separately.

The present invention has the task of eliminating all of the above-mentioned problems, which is obtained with a working assembly characterized in that each connecting pipe opens into its own set-up pipe.

The other features of the invention are apparent from the appended patent claims 2-3.

In the following, the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, which shows an example of a pickling assembly according to the invention mounted on a four-socket potato machine.

The pickling assembly according to the invention comprises a container 1 for the powdery pickling medium and a mixing chamber 3 communicating with the container 1 via a dosing device 2, where the pickling means is received in a strong turbulent air flow from a fan 4 connected to the mixing chamber 3 and connected to the mixing chamber 3 via the separating chamber 3. 5 to each of the insertion tubes 7 of the potato sewing machine 6, in which a potato at a transmitter is measured from a potato container 11 by means of straps or chains 8. Practical tests have shown that a suitable embodiment of the mixing chamber 3 is a substantially vertical pipe to which the lower end of the fan 4 is connected and to which the upper end of the connecting pipes 5 is connected, preferably via a branch piece 9.

In order to obtain an even more even treatment of each potato, the connecting tubes 5 before the respective set tubes 7 can be provided with a branch piece 10, which divides the powder-air stream into two sub-streams which flow into the set tube 7 from opposite sides. This arrangement is also justified by the fact that usually two parallel potato-feeding strips or chains 8 are arranged in the same settling pipe 7, the partial streams being directed to each strip or each chain 8. The advantage of having two chains 8 per settling pipe 7 lies as known therein. the speed of the chains 8 then only needs to be approx. half of the speed that the potato machine 6's propulsion speed would require if only one chain 8 per set tube 7 was used.

Pickling device for an automatic potato planting machine (6), wherein the potatoes are fed individually from the potato container (11) by means of strips or chains (8) to the planting tubes (7) of the machine, the pickling device comprising a container (1) for powdered pickling agent (2) the mixing chamber (3) connected to the tank (1), the fan (4) connected to the mixing chamber (3) and the connecting pipes (5) from the mixing chamber (3), characterized in that each connecting pipe (5) into the tube (7).
