The invention relates to a watertight pipe connection between a sink basin and a drain pipe, comprising a manifold with one or more connecting pipes for the connecting pipes of the basins and a pipe section forming a water trap and a connecting pipe for the drain pipe.

Such a pipe connection is disclosed in the applicant's FI publication 57998. With this pipe system, maximum space savings are achieved in the cabinet space below the basins, because the manifold with water traps can be placed next to the rear wall of the cabinet space.

The object of the invention is to further develop such a pipe connection so that it can be manufactured in one mold and in one operation, whereby the manufacturing costs of the pipe connection are substantially reduced and, in addition, the installation work becomes easier.

This object is achieved on the basis of the features of the invention set out in the appended claims.

The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 shows a pipe connection according to the invention in vertical section along the longitudinal axis of the manifold and Figure 2 shows the same pipe connection in section 1 along the line II-II in Figure 1.

Figure 3 shows a top view of the pipe connection, in which case the connecting pipes of the basins are also connected.

In the embodiment shown, the pipe connection is intended to be connected to an outlet 1 of two adjacent sinks, connected by connecting pipes 2 as close as possible to the bottoms of the basins to connecting pipes 3 connected to a common manifold 4. A water trap is formed at one end of the manifold 4 a straight pipe section 7 parallel to the connecting pipes 3, which is divided into two parts by a partition wall 5, the lower end of which joins the lower edge of the manifold pipe 4. The space of the water trap 7 on the other side of the partition wall 5 communicates with a downwardly connected connecting pipe 6 to which the sewer pipe 9 can be connected. The pipe 9 can be formed, for example, by a flexible throat pipe, with which the connection between the connecting pipe 6 and the end of the fixed sewer pipe is made without positioning difficulties.

The upper end of the partition wall 5 in the pipe 7 extends substantially above the upper edge of the collecting pipe 4, whereby the water remaining in the collecting pipe 4 and partly in the pipes 7 and 3 forms a water trap. The upper end of the pipe 7 is closed by a rotatable cover 11 and the other end of the manifold 4 is closed by a rotatable cover 10. The connecting pipes 2 have connections 8 which are normally closed and which can be opened e.g. for connection to a washing machine.

When the water trap is formed as a straight pipe part 7 provided with a partition wall 5, the collector pipe 4 with its connecting pipes 3, 6 and water traps 5, 7 can be manufactured in one mold and in one operation. In this case, it is preferred that the pipe part 7 forming the water trap and the connecting pipes 3, 6 are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the manifold pipe 4.

As shown in Fig. 3, the telescopic connecting tubes 2 form a V-shaped pattern, whereby they can be led directly to the connecting tubes 3, which are close and parallel. The telescopic connecting pipes 2 make it possible to position the pipe-together position in the axial direction of the manifold 4.

Claims (4)

A water-tight pipe connection between a sink basin and a drain pipe (9), comprising a manifold (4) comprising one or more connecting pipes (3) for the connection pipes (2) of the basins and a water-sealing pipe section (7) and a connecting pipe (6) (9), characterized in that the manifold (4), said connecting pipes (3, 6) and the water trap (7, 5) are made in one integral pipe piece, in which the water trap consists of a straight pipe part (7) provided with a partition wall (5). Pipe connection according to Claim 1, characterized in that the end of the pipe section (7) forming the water trap is closed by a rotatable cover (11).
