A dental composition comprises zinc oxide, eugenol, a natural or synthetic resin, and terylene fibres. The composition may comprise colophony and Canada and Peru balsam. On setting, the composition may withstand a pressure of 190 kg/cm<SP>2</SP> and a shearing force of 110 kg/cm<SP>2</SP>.
