Abstract
Laite veden mittaamiseksi liikkuvasta langasta (30). Lähetysantennilla (14A) varustettu lähetysjärjestely (50) pyyhkäisee mikroaaltosäteilyn taajuuskaistan yli ja lähettää mikroaaltosäteilyn viiran (30) läpi vesikerrokseen (16). Vastaanottojärjestely (52), jossa vastaanottoantenni (14B) on samalla puolella viiraa (30) kuin lähetysantenni (14A), vastaanottaa mikroaaltosäteilyä heijastuksena vesikerroksen (16) pinnalta (18A), joka on vastapäätä vesikerroksen (16) ensimmäistä pintaa (18B), joka on viiraa (30) vasten. Lähetysjärjestely (50) voi lähettää ympyräpolarisoitua mikroaaltosäteilyä ja vastaanottojärjestely (50, 52) voi vastaanottaa vastaympyräpolarisoitua mikroaaltosäteilyä ja/tai lähetys- ja vastaanottoantennien (14A, 14B) väliin on sijoitettu erotusrakenne (60). Erotusrakenne (60) tuottaa fyysisen erottelun ja rajoittaa mikroaaltosäteilyn vuotamista lähetys- ja vastaanottoantennien välillä (14A, 14B). Signaalinkäsittelyyksikkö (26) mittaa viiran (30) päällä olevan vesikerroksen (16) mikroaaltosäteilyn ja vesikerroksen (16) vuorovaikutuksen perusteella.
