Abstract
Esitetään menetelmä esteröidyn selluloosan ja/tai hemiselluloosan valmistamiseksi. Menetelmä voi käsittää, että sekoitetaan anhydridiseos ja selluloosa ja/tai hemiselluloosa, niin että saadaan esteröintiseos, jossa anhydridiseos esteröi selluloosan ja/tai hemiselluloosan ainakin osittain, niin että muodostuu esteröityä selluloosaa ja/tai hemiselluloosaa; ja jossa anhydridiseos on saatavissa tai saadaan antamalla rasvahapon reagoida lyhytketjuisen hapon anhydridin kanssa happokatalyytin läsnä ollessa, jolloin saadaan alkuanhydridiseos, jossa alkuanhydridiseos käsittää seka-anhydridin, jossa on rasva-asyyliryhmä ja lyhytketjuinen asyyliryhmä, osan lyhytketjuisen hapon anhydridistä, ja lyhytketjuisen hapon sekä valinnaisesti rasvahapon anhydridin, jossa on kaksi rasva-asyyliryhmää; ja poistamalla lyhytketjuinen happo, lyhytketjuisen hapon anhydridi ja valinnaisesti alkuanhydridiseoksessa läsnä oleva vesi ja/tai epäpuhtaudet ainakin osittain alkuanhydridiseoksesta, niin että saadaan anhydridiseos.
