Abstract

Menetelmä, joka käsittää seuraavaa: asiakaslaite pyytää palvelimelta videosisältökomponentin itsenäisesti koodatun ensimmäisen esitysmuodon; vastaanottaa bittivirran ja toistaa kyseisen itsenäisesti koodatun ensimmäisen esitysmuodon ensimmäisen tietoyksikköjoukon; ja pyytää toisen esitysmuodon toisen tietoyksikköjoukon, jolloin mainittu toinen tietoyksikköjoukko on koodattu siten, että se on riippuvainen yhdestä tai useammasta ensimmäisen joukon pyydetystä tai puskuroidusta tietoyksiköstä, ja mainittu toinen tietoyksikköjoukko on jaettu ajallisesti kahteen osaan, missä perusosa on dekoodattavissa ilman parannusosaa ja parannusosa ei välttämättä ole dekoodattavissa ilman kyseistä perusosaa.
