Abstract
The invention relates to a method for improving strength and retention in the production of paper. According to the invention, a composition consisting of anionic microfibrillated cellulose is arranged in a fiber suspension and 0.1 - 10 v-% microfibrillated cellulose calculated on the mass of the fiber suspension is added and at least part of the retention chemicals and/or strength chemicals are replaced with the composition consisting of anionic microfibrillated cellulose and a microparticulate component with the composition consisting of anionic microfibrillated cellulose to improve the strength and retention of the product to be formed. In addition, the invention relates to a corresponding paper product.
