Abstract

The invention is based on the idea of using a wireless mobile communication system - especially a WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) network - for network management. Network management tasks are handled through a graphical display that has a wireless connection to the network element being managed through a mobile communication system and a part of the fixed network. Network management according to the invention has, therefore, been modified to utilise the wireless environment, allowing quick network management operations, the possibility of managing network elements practically from any location and the easy provision of reserve routes for network management.
