Abstract

The invention relates to a process for the inhibition of anodic passivation during the electrolytic purification of copper when using the technique of periodic current reversal for the electrolysis. The process is particularly suitable for use in the electrolytic refining of copper with a high current density. The irregular current reversal technique is used in the process, where the current reversal is controlled by raising the voltage in the electrolytic vessel. <IMAGE>
