Abstract

The object of the invention is a compost toilet, comprised of a composting part (1) and seat mounted above this (2), in whose upper part (3) there is a lid (5) that can be opened and a seat ring (6) or similar, and in which the compost toilet seat (2) lower part has an opening (7) that is joined with the composting part. Characteristic to a composting toilet in accordance with this invention is that the seat part's (2) lower portion (4) has been formed in a manner that it widens towards the bottom, and that the seat part's (2) lower portion has a collection chute (8) for collecting liquid matter and separating it from the solid matter. In the lower part of the seat there is an inclined seal hatch which opens when sitting on the seat ring. The hatch closes the connection between the seat part and the composting part and guides the urine and flushing water which is located on top of it to the collection flute. The seal hatch prevents visibility into the composting part and also prevents insects from getting from entering into the toilet. The lack of odour is based upon the continuous flow of air from the seat part into the composting part and from there along a pipe p to the roof of the building.<IMAGE>
