The invention relates to soft optical contact moulded bodies, especially contact lenses and scleral lenses, comprising cross-linked hydrophilic copolymers of olefinically unsaturated compounds which in addition to the monomers known for contact optics contain N-alkyl and N-vinyl carboxyamides as hydrophilic monomer components. The moulded bodies according to the invention have lesser water absorption capacity than conventional soft lenses, greater compatibility with a longer time of use and do not show any tendency for the low molecular weight components to migrate.
