Abstract

EP--67590 A The battery is charged by repeatedly alternating between test and charge cycles. The dynamic voltage current characteristic of the battery is obtained, as a function of the charge condition of the battery. Then the battery is supplied by a gradually varying voltage for a predetermined time. The rate at which the supplied voltage varies is related to the dynamic voltage-current characteristics obtained. - The cycles are repeated until the dynamic voltage-current characteristic last obtained is identical to the preceding characteristic. At this point the changing of the battery terminated. Pref. a microprocessor is used to control the charging current that is supplied to the battery. EPAB- EP--67590 B The battery is charged by repeatedly alternating between test and charge cycles. (85pp)
