Abstract

The process and device involves the despatching of telecopy by means of hardware stations which a) can be operated by the sender himself, at least as far as the handling of the master documents are concerned, and b) at the receiving end gives out information only to the receiver or gives to the latter a letter addressed to him, which can be taken sealed from the station or which can be given sealed to a delivery service, set up at the receiving station. Fig. 2 gives a frontal view of a public telecommunications receiving sation. A telecopy (16) received by the station is given out through a delivery slot (15) upon insertion of the personal chip card (2) of the receiver and the entering of a code by means of the keyboard (14). However, the receiving station can be so programmed that the telecopy (16) which has been received is packed in an enveloppe (38) produced from an endless paper ribbon (19), bearing the delivery address (33) which has been received or coded, which is delivered, sealed, through a special slot (39) to a distribution organization.
