Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for storage and automatic loading of a weapon with ammunition of a number of types. According to the invention, the device comprising a reserve pocket (10) for ammunition, fixed to the rear of the turret, is characterised in that said pocket (10) comprises at least two independent magazines (10a-10b) each containing a given quantity of stored ammunition (11) and its own mechanism for step-by-step handling of said ammunition, and in that in each magazine (10a-10b) the pieces of ammunition (11) are each placed in a disposable storage and protection container (16) equipped with assembly members (20, 21, 26a, 26b) which make it possible temporarily to integrate the containers (16) with one another, and the set of said containers with the corresponding handling mechanism. The invention finds application in particular in tanks.
