Abstract

The process consists of a thermal treatment which causes formation of precipitates semi-coherent with the Al matrix, and soln., of the precipitates by acid treatment. The alloy is subject to ageing, washed and stripped. It is then neutralised in an acid bath to obtain the surface state which determines the grey shade desired for final sealing.
