Abstract
PURIFICACION DE UNA FUSION DE ALUMINIO CONTAMINADA POR METALES DEL GRUPO DE LAS TIERRAS RARAS. CONSISTE EN PONER EN CONTACTO EL METAL FUNDIDO CON UN AGENTE DE HALOGENACION QUE PUEDE SER CL2, ALCL3 O ALF3, PARA CONVERTIR EL METAL DE LAS TIERRAS RARAS EN HALOGENURO Y SEPARAR ESTE DEL METAL FUNDIDO; EL METAL FUNDIDO PUEDE CONTENER ENTRE 0,1 Y 4% DE CE Y LA REACCION SE LLEVA A CABO CON AGITACION. SI SE EMPLEA ALF3 HAY QUE USARLO EN UNA CANTIDAD DEL 95-140% DE LA CANTIDAD ESTEQUIOMETRICA REQUERIDA POR EL CE PRESENTE. CUANDO SE EMPLEA CLORO, SE BORBOTEA UNA MEZCLA DE ESTE CON GAS INERTE POR EL METAL FUNDIDO. TAMBIEN SE PUEDE USAR PRIMERO ALF3 Y LUEGO CLORO GASEOSO.
