Abstract

Devices for feed of electrolyte and removal of the electrolysis prods. are supplemented by energisers at least one of the electrodes being applied to the diaphragm via an elastically compressible coating contacting the diaphragm at uniformly distributed points. This distributes the pressure over the entire electrode surface, with an open structure so that the gases and electrolyte can pass through.
