The process consists of (a) cleaning the inner wall with a caustic soda-based detergent; (b) rinsing with water at 65-85 deg.C; (c) prepg. a wrapped sleeve from flexible sheet with smooth and fibrous surfaces; (d) coating the pipe bore with a first resin; (e) inserting an air-tight and flexible envelope with attached tube into the sleeve from (c); (f) coating the external fibrous wall of the sleeve with a second resin; (g) inserting the assembly of sleeve and envelope into the resin-coated bore; (h) sliding a cap with a collar and base over the ends of the envelope; (i) passing a fluid under low pressure into the envelope through the end tube; (j) completing inflation of the envelope to apply the sleeve against the resin in the bore; (i) polymerising the resin between the sleeve and the bore; (l) bonding the sleeve to the bore; and (m) withdrawing the envelope from the sleeve.
