Abstract
2-Imidazoline derivs. of formula (I), in which R1 is H, CH3, OH, Cl or NO2, R2 is H or 1-3C alkyl, R3R4 and R5 are H or CH3, are made by (a) reaction of the corresp. benzo-1,4-dioxan 2-carbonitrile with a diaziridine in strong acid medium and anhydrous organic solvent; and (b) conversion of the salt obtained into the hydrochloride by elution through an ion exchange column with solns. of HCl in organic solvent.
