Abstract
PURPOSE:To apply a heavy bending force and to obtain inexpensively bearings excellent in durability and performance by forming work-roll chocks into mutually connecting mechanisms capable of shifting with two work rolls, and alotting bending forces for forming concave and convex crowns, a balancing force, and a thrust to both mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:Work rolls between backup rolls are formed into two connected 20 roll chocks 11, 12 capable of shifting with work rolls by cylinders 17, and the former 11 bears a convex-crown forming force and a blancing force and the latter 12 bears a concave-crown forming force and a thrust, respectively. Then a heavy bending force can be applied because short journal-parts provides a correcting-crown forming force, and the bearing mechanisms of simple and compact construction are inexpensively obtained, and further the bearings of high durability and performance are obtained. Further, when this combined bearing is used together with both bearing parts of work rolls, the more excellent effect is obtained.
