Abstract
The guanine deriv. of formula (I) is made by reaction of the cpd. of formula (II) (not given) in which X is CHO or COOR, and R is H or alkyl, R1 is a protective gp., e.g. trimethylsilyl, acetyl or H, and R2 is another protective gp., e.g. trimethylsilyl or H, with aluminium or lithium hydrides in a solvent, e.g. ether, dioxane or others at between 0 deg.C and reflux temp. and under inert gas atmos. The final prod. is obtd. by drying, removal of solvent under vacuum and crystallising.
