Abstract

Process for baking of electrodes with recovery of a proportion of the heat from the fumes, these fumes being trapped and at least partially injected into a preheating cell. For baking carbon electrodes, the device of the invention comprises at least: 1 to 4 preheating cells 13 associated with 4 to 16 baking or annealing ovens 2, 3, and means for extraction of the hot fumes 8, 9 from the chimneys 4, 5 of the ovens 2, 3, means 12 for collecting and conveying these hot fumes and means 14 for injecting the said fumes into the preheating cell(s) 13.
