Abstract

The invention relates to a process for treating wastepaper and to the de-inking decolorisation of the paper pulp by using a compound of the general formula (I) during the flotation treatment: RCOO-(CH2CH2O)m-(AO)n-R' in which R is an alkyl group or alkenyl group having 7 to 21 C atoms, R' is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, alkenyl group or acyl group having 1 to 18 C atoms, AO is C3H6O, C4H8O or a mixed polyoxyalkylene group containing these groups and C2H4O, m is an integer from 1 to 100 and n is an integer from 1 to 100.
