The methylene carbazater deriv. of 2-quinoxaline 1,4-dioxide, of formula (I) is made by reacting 2-hydroxylamino-methylene quinoxaline 1,4-dioxide of formula (II) with oxygenated water to give a cpd. of formula (III). This is reacted with methyl carbazate to give (I).
