Abstract
Leaktight closure device which can be detached or removed from a container 1 for irradiated fuel, by means of a cover 4, which interacts with an opening of the container, characterized in that this opening has, in its upper part 2, at least one inner cylindrical face 3, the cover has an outer cylindrical face 5, the diameter of the outer face 5 of the cover is slightly larger than the diameter of the inner face 3 of the opening, the cover 4 being placed in position by means of rapid heating of the upper part 2 of the opening in order to give rise to its expansion, which allows the introduction of the cover, the inner face 3 of the opening then coming to bear heavily against the outer face 5 of the cover, after the reestablishment of the thermal equilibrium by suppression of heating, removal of the cover taking place in the same way by means of rapid heating of the upper part 2 of the opening.
