Abstract

The head of the detonating device contains an electronic circuit including a large capacitor connected to a firing device. This in turn communicates the main charge via a detonator when it is rotated into alignment to produce an explosion before, or after impact, if the impact is such that the mechanical detonating system does not operate. The discharge of the capacitor takes place via a switch which is closed by the movement of a disc with a lug which acts on the microswitch. The circuit includes a battery and also a transistor whose collector is connected to a coil with a ferrite core, and a series of passive components in order to produce the necessary charge on the capacitor.
