EL MATERIAL DE MATRIZ FUSIBLE DE HUMECTACION DE GRAFITO, TIENE UN PUNTO DE FUSION INFERIOR A 1000º C. COMO MATERIAL DE MATRIZ FUSIBLE, SE EMPLEA UN COMPUESTO DE BORO O UN CRISTAL CONTENIENDO BORO; LA CARGA REFRACTARIA, CONPRENDE AL MENOS UN MATERIAL REFRACTARIO, OXIDO,ALUMINOSILICATO, CARBURO, NITRURO, SILICIURO O BORURO.
