Abstract

The machine comprises a feed station (1), a labelling station (4, 6) and a collecting station (8) as well as transport means (2, 5, 7) for conveying each article in succession from one station to the next station. The machine essentially comprises a first transport device (2) consisting of a pivoting arm (17) equipped with gripping means (20, 21) at its free end (18) and capable of bringing each article from a substantially horizontal position at the feed station (1) to a substantially vertical position at the labelling station, where there are means (35, 41, 42) designed simultaneously to fold and lay a label athwart one edge of the article gripped at the free end (18) of the pivoting arm (17).
