Abstract

1. Device for spreading controlled quantities of a flowable sealing compound on surfaces destined to receive the rivet head of a rivet connecting several components, especially metal sheets, using a cartridge (2), containing the sealing compound, and a nozzle (13, 14) arranged at the lower end of the device and having a central passage (21) through which flows the controlled quantity of sealing compound under pressure of a compressed air pulse, characterized by a tapered centering pin (15) being provided coaxially with the nozzle (13) at the lower end of the nozzle (13), the maximum cross section of the centering pin being equivalent to the diameter of the rivet bore (22, 17), and the nozzle surface having a contact face (16, 22) in transverse arrangement to the nozzle axis with a shape that corresponds to the mounting face of the rivet head, and the contact face (16, 22) incorporating a concentric annular groove (19) that is connected with the dead-end bore type central passage (21) through the equi-spaced bores (20).
